Shine a light on Black Authors and Illustrators

We Need Diverse Books, in partnership with Penguin Random House and The Brown Bookshelf, established the Black Creatives Fund to support Black authors and illustrators in children's and adult publishing. The fund amplifies the work of Black creatives in the publishing community and brings more Black voices and stories to the world.

The resources of the fund are invested in education, mentorship, and financial support for Black creatives at key stages of development -- unpublished and mid-career.

• Education: Deliver online resources and live-streamed webinars featuring topics such as: writing craft, editorial process, and querying and pitching 101.

• Mentorship: Give direct access to published authors who can offer manuscript critiques, pitch practice, query advice, and more.

• Financial: Provide financial support to assist Black creatives on their path to publication and marketing.
